Use LLC or DBA when applying for Reseller Permit

I have an LLC set up but will be doing business using a different name (DBA), and I am wondering if, when applying for a reseller permit, I use my LLC or DBA information. Thanks!

Dear Jon,

When you apply for a sales tax ID (reseller permit) you will file as an LLC, and in most applications you would be asked to list all the DBAs this LLC has.

Remember, your LLC is the legal entity that technically would be the one responsible to collect sales tax. DBA is just an alias of your LLC and by itself is not an entity.
