Setting up a LLC in Wyoming
Asked by: Mehmet - 6 December, 2012
I want to set up a LLC in Wyoming and my business will be internet based and have no real estate. So, can I have a virtual office in for example NYC? Do you have services setting up company accounting/bookkeeping and virtual office?
And lastly, if I set up my company in Wyoming then I just have to pay federal taxes not state tax? if so, what is the tax rate?
thanks a lot

Mehmet,
You are not required to have an address in the same state of the business registration, so long as it is a physical address and not a P.O. Box. That being said, it would be no problem to use a virtual office address in, for example, New York to apply to register an LLC in Wyoming. You may even use an address outside of the United States if you choose to.
As professional incorporators, we form the business with the states, as well as obtain many tax id's/permits, international certifications, etc. We do not offer bookkeeping/accounting services, nor do we provide virtual offices ourselves, however, we do have a research article titled 'U.S. Business Address', which offers resources and tools to establish a virtual office.
As an LLC is a pass-through entity, the income of the business in not taxed, and passed-through to the owners' personal income, where you would be responsible for paying personal income taxes. We offer a free tax webinar on our applications which addresses many of the common tax questions LLC owners usually have.
