Many states allow you to convert entity types by filing an entity conversion application. Depending on the state, you may be required to follow additional requirements: for example, if you convert from an LLC to a Corporation or vice versa in a state which requires a specific state requirement such as newspaper publications, it’s possible you would have to do additional filing procedures/costs to meet compliance with the state.
