Do you renew annually by anniversary date or beginning of the year?

Terri,

Every state is different when it comes to the fees and schedule of filing a company’s annual report/franchise tax.

For example, in Wyoming, a company’s annual report is due on the 1st day of the anniversary month of incorporation. This means if a company was formed, say, March 19th, the annual report would be due every March 1st.

In New Jersey, a company’s annual report is due on the exact anniversary of the initial filing. Other states have different due dates, and in some states the fees and due dates vary depending on the entity type.

Without knowing the entity type and state of registration, it’s hard to give you an exact answer when your company’s renewal would be due.
