Hi All,
I am planning to import and sell knives from Argentina. The idea is to start with a grassroots strategy of showing samples of the knife sets and the options of different handles (exotic woods) along with creating a brochure I can hand out. The knives would be made to order by the set, rather than bulk, and then directly shipped to the US.
I obviously don’t expect this business to explode overnight. Starting at this small level is it critical that I get an importing license? If so, would I need an LLC to obtain one?
Understand that I have no experience in importing or creating a company so please advice on all levels.
Thanks
Dear Ross,
As far as I researched, the only restriction on importation of knives into the US applies to switchblade knives and other spring-loaded knives. I recommend you to research this topic with U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
As far as organizing your business as an LLC, I would say it might be a good idea, given the fact you plan to trade sell a rather “dangerous” commodity (I know, its debatable, but still).
The instrument presented was either declined by the processor or bank, or it can't be used for this payment.
Try again later.
(a) You made a typo in the card number, CCV code, expiration date, name or address;
(b) Your card balance is too low;
(c) Issuing bank has declined this transaction for some other reason related to your account.
