DBA and independent entity

I have two DBA under one EIN in California. I now want to separate one DBA from the mother Organization(Non-profit). Is it possible for a DBA to create an individual entity?.

Dear Jeremy,
DBA is an alias, and as such is not a separate entity. Given that your second DBA is currently registered as an alias for your Nonprofit what you could do is cancel this DBA (its done with a county), and form a new company with that name (done with CA Secretary of State).
If you want to use that name as DBA, but registered for a different business entity, you first need to cancel it with the county clerk, and then register again, specifying this other entity as the DBA holder.
