Business in SC, equipment registered in FL
Asked by: Tim - 19 January, 2013
I moved from FL to SC and have started a mobile truck repair business. I still have a FL address where all my equipment is still registered. Do I need to form an LLC in FL at that address or move everything to SC. I will be doing repairs in the whole south east.

Tim,
If you are no longer in Florida and your business has little connection to Florida, my logic tells me you should simply transfer the registration of all your equipment to South Carolina.
You only need to register your business in other states if the business is an organized entity (like LLC, Corporation) and if it has physical presence in those states, such as office, warehouse, employees, etc.
