Do I need a dba for a door refinishing company owned and run by me?

It really depends on whether you use any trade name for your business. If you run it under your name then you don’t need a DBA, but if you chose a trade name (also called fictitious name) then you might want to register it with the appropriate authorities. Keep in mind, a few states have no DBA filing filing options at all.
